(k) regardless of DMO status, if refuse or acid or toxic producing materials are exposed
during mining, describe how they shall be handled and disposed of in a manner that will
control unsightliness and protect the drainage system from pollution;
There will be no designated chemicals used in this proposed operation. With the exception of
some screening and possible crushing, no other processing will occur at the site.
Within the Affected Area there exists approximately 50,000 tons of abandoned mine waste
rock. This operation will be removing this material to an off-site processing facility. To
mitigate any acidic runoff, SWMP best management practices will be used.
(l) describe what measures will be taken to minimize disturbance to the hydrologic
balance, prevent off-site damage, and provide for a stable configuration of the reclaimed
area consistent with the proposed future land use;and
These provisions will be obtained through the following:
• The S WMP will be implemented
• No ground water will be encountered
• Removal of the mining waste rock pile will return the site to its pre-mine topography.
The site, once fully reclaimed will be more erosionally and hydrologically stable.
• The post mining land use is wildlife habitat. Once the waste rock is removed and
vegetation becomes established, the post mining land use will have been achieved.
(m) specify whether the deposit/ore will be processed on site. Processing included crushing,
screening, washing, concrete or asphalt mixing, leaching or milling. If the deposit/ore will
be processed then describe the nature of the process, facilities and chemicals utilized. The
process area and any structures must be described in Exhibit E-Map.
The waste rock will be crushed and screened then removed to an off-site location for
processing. No chemical will be used, other water for dust control.
(n) Identify the primary, and if applicable, secondary and incidental commodities to be
mined/extracted by the proposed operation;and if not to be used as construction material,
describe the intended use.
The minerals to be extracted from mine waste rock during offsite processing are:
Primary Commodities
Gold and Silver
Secondary Commodities
37
