The proposed re -alignment of the West Pond access road will be
located in an area that has been previously disturbed and will occupy an area within the approved
disturbance footprint for the Collom pit.
CPW has worked collaboratively with the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement
(OSMRE) and Colowyo Coal Mine to develop site-specific mitigation that will help reduce, minimize
or avoid impacts to wildlife and wildlife habitat associated with this project. These mitigation
practices have been documented via other correspondence documents with OSMRE, and CPW
believes that the proposed activities fall within the scope of anticipated impacts that were considered
in these documents.
CPW appreciates the opportunity to provide comments for Technical Revision No. 127. For
additional information, please contact Brett Smithers, Land Use Specialist at 970-878-6069.
Sincerely.
_f;' (,•` fir
Bill deVergie, Area Wildlife Manager
Cc: Evan Jones, District Wildlife Manager.
