Magpie Diversion.
OTHER (SPECIFY):
The gated entrance to the Southfield Mine site was locked as usual. After numerous attempts, the Division was
unable to unlock the lock after using the known code. It appears that the code to the lock has been changed or no
longer functions. The Division decided to walk to the Magpie Diversion from the county road and then by the
GEC access road. Two hunters were observed along the ridge line of the North Area of the GEC Mine. Once at the
Magpie Diversion, the Division observed a white pickup truck along the GEC access road near the diversion
intersection. After inspecting the Magpie Diversion, the returned along the GEC access road when the white
pickup truck pulled behind and alongside the Division inspector. The individual in the truck was Mr. Daryl
Mergen. Mr. Daryl Mergen was visibly angry and irritated. Mr. Mergen asked who and why the inspector was
doing on site. The Division inspector informed Mr. Mergen who he was, who he was with and why he was there.
At that point, the inspector tried to ask Mr. Mergen on the status of the lock at the gated entrance but before the
question could be finished, Mr. Mergen informed the inspector that he couldn’t speak with the Division and pulled
away. After driving approximately 15 to 20 feet, Mr. Mergen stopped and exited the vehicle and approached the
inspector. He then pointed his finger at the inspector and stated that it was within the inspector’s best interest to
not being on the property during hunting season before reentering the vehicle. After driving to the gated entrance
to the GEC access road and turning around, Mr. Mergen then pulled along the inspector again and informed him
on the reasons he was angry with the Division and acting in the manner in which he was presenting. At that point,
Mr. Mergen then continued back up the GEC access road and the Division inspector continued with his inspection.

REVEGETATION – Rule 4.15
Vegetative Cover; Timing:
Vegetation continues to establish itself along the unclaimed portion of two track that access the NW-MW well pad
as well as road spur. The NW-MW pad shows increase in vegetation establishment. No erosion or issues were
observed on the pad. The road spur located east of the NW-MW well pad remains very well vegetated with no
issues.

The reclaimed substation and associated access road remains stable. The access road has seen vehicle traffic which
has hindered vegetation establishment. The substation pad itself is very well vegetated. No erosion or issues were
observed along the substation pad and associated access road.
