5) There are no secondary commodities anticipated, however if we encounter
any clay deposits they may also be mined and used on county roads too.
6) Blasting, if required, will consist of charges set to lift and fracture a layer of
rock sufficient to load into a crusher. The nearest structure that may be
affected is Dolores County's gravel road 3.7 and since we are Dolores County
Road Department we will fix it if we damage it. The nearest building is a
farm Quonset but used for storage and is 3,360 feet away, and the nearest
inhabited structure is 1.3 miles away so we do not anticipate any problems
with structures.
7) The total maximum disturbance will be limited to 20 acres. If time and space
requirements permit portions that have been completely mined may be
reclaimed early.
8) See attached map of proposed slopes after reclamation.
9) At this time we believe we will not require a dust control permit since the
nearest occupied building is 1.3 miles away. We are currently waiting for a
response from Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment on the
issue. If CDPHE requires a permit for this operation we will obtain a permit.
Otherwise, dust will be controlled as-needed by hauling water with a county
water truck.
If you have further questions or need additional information, please contact me at 970-
677-2328.
Sincerely,
T J
4e4v2avis
Dolores County Road & Bridge Supervisor
cc: Travis Marshall, Environmental Protection Specialist
