PERMIT#: M-1999-120
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: October 25,2018
OBSERVATIONS
This was an acreage release inspection for an active 112c sand and gravel operation conducted by Eric Scott of
DRMS for the Ft. Lupton Sand and Gravel site operated by LG Everist. DRMS met with permittee
representatives led by Lynn Mayer Shults at the site at approximately 10:00 and toured the site with them. The
release request for 64.22 acres was submitted to DRMS on October 1, 2018, and DRMS sent out the required
notices on October 12, 2018. The public comment period will expire on October 29, 2018 and to date no
objections have been received to the proposed partial release.
The portion of the site to be released consists of 64.22 acres located along the east-center of the permitted area
as depicted on the maps submitted with AR05. The release area is immediately adjacent to the South Platte
River, and the permittee has decided not to mine any of the riparian corridor located east of the Lupton Bottom
Ditch. This area was not previously affected by mining activity and remains primarily riparian wildlife habitat,
although there are a few residential lots in this area as well.
Because the 64.22 acres have not been impacted by mining activity, DRMS will support the release of this area
from the permit at this time and ARO1 will be finalized when the public comment period expires.
Inspection Contact Address
Lynn Mayer-Shults
L.
