Randall, Executive Director | Virginia Brannon, Director 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Denver, CO 80203 October 24, 2018 Office of Archaeology & Historic Preservation History Colorado Center 1200 Broadway Denver, CO 80203 Re: Foidel Creek Mine (Permit No. C-1982-056) Technical Revision No. 92 (TR-92) Panel Extension Dear Sir or Madam: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 24, 2018 an application to revise coal mining operations at the Foidel Creek Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Twentymile Coal, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. The revision proposes to modify the approved mine plan for the Wolf Creek Reserve (WCR) to extend the 7-East Longwall Panel approximately 1,400 feet to the east. This would increase the Permit Area by 40 acres and Affected Area by 35 acres with Section 11, T5N, R86W and Section 12, T5N, R86W. The 40 acre Permit Area extension will encompass the panel extension and any anticipated subsidence impacts. There are no additional proposed surface facilites. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 23 miles Southwest of Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: In portions of Sections 7, 8, 9, T4N, R86W; Sections 32 and 33, T6N, R86W; Sections 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 34, 35 and 36 in T5N, R87W; and all of T5N, R86W with the exception of Sections 34, 35, and 36.
