Stream Buffer Zones
There are portions of the developed water resources system that are within 100 feet of
North Thompson Creek, a perennial stream. The Long Pond, T-1, T-2 and the access road
were measured to be within 100 feet of North Thompson Creek.
Run-off from the developed water resources system is contained on site to assure there
are no adverse impacts to North Thompson Creek. Run-off is directed to ditch D-4 as
shown on Map D-2-5. Ditch D-4 drains into Pond 9. Drainage from Pond 9 flows into the
Refuse Pond. The developed water resources system will not cause or contribute to the
violation of applicable water quality standards and the water quantity and quality, as well as
other environmental resources of North Thompson Creek will not be adversely affected. In
accordance with Rule 4.02.5, the Operator will place stream buffer zone signs along the
berm that forms ditch D-4.
Rule 4.05.18 requires DRMS to make a finding that authorizes any proposed disturbance
within 100 feet of a perennial stream. The discussion of stream buffer zones in the permit
renewal findings documents may satisfy this requirement.
MR -26 4 -xi (Rev. 06/17)
