The 13H-IR intersected
the current 13H mining interval from the west. NS retains the ability to inject from the existing
13H-1 well and use the 13H-IR as either an injection or recovery well as sodium bicarbonate
(baking soda) production dictates. The preexisting NS DS-3 ground water monitor well will be
utilized as the subsurface subsidence monitor well (SSMW) for the 13H-IR well. The DS-3
penetrates the R-6 confining interval and is proximal to the 13H-IR well bore path. DS-3 well
completion data was previously submitted to the EPA during the 12H-IR permitting process.
The existing 13H-SSM (surface subsidence monument) is known to the EPA, located above the
13H mining interval, and is surveyed per the NS UIC permit.
Please find attached:
• Aerial and topographic maps indicating proposed SSMW location and the '/4 mile the Area of
Review(AOR)
• Completed 7520-6 form
• Completed 7520-14 form
• Completed 7520-9 form
• Comprehensive list of the AOR wells
• As-Built Well Completion Diagrams for the Injection/Recovery Well
• Well Plug and Abandonment Diagram
• Well Completion Data
• Stratigraphy and Hydrostratigraphy Tops
• Capstar Daily Drilling Reports
• Open Hole Geophysical Logs
• Halliburton Cementing Job Report, Jet West CBL, and Cement Evaluation
• Scientific Drilling End of Well Report(directional surveys)
• MIT Part I Report and Data
• Equipment Layout and Skid Specifications
The maximum allowable injection rate (MAIP) for NS injection wells is 300 psi. Per the NS UIC
permit there are no specific limitations on injection well flow rates or volumes.
Well completion information and diagrams for all existing wells in the AOR remain unchanged
and have been previously submitted to the EPA and approved on multiple occasions.
