EXHIBIT H WILDLIFE INFORMATION
1. Significant Game Resources on Affected Lands
Mule deer and antelope are probably the most critical game resource in this area. The current
landscape offers very little ground cover which is useful for deer and other small mammals.
2. Significant Non-Game Resources on Affected Lands
Fox and coyote are probably the most critical non-game resource in this area. Since there is very
little ground cover, and no water available, the value of the site for mammals is extremely
limited.
3. Seasonal Use of Affected Lands
No important seasonal use exists beyond seasonal agricultural development.
4. Presence and Estimated Population of Threatened or Endangered Species in the
Area.
None.
5. Fish Resources
An Aquatic designated Cutthroat Trout habitat exists along Mineral Creek and will not be
encountered during mining. This buffer encompasses the confluence of Mineral Creek and Hard
Scrabble Creek on the Yevoli Cobblestone Pit property. A 50 foot setback will be maintained
between the designated Trout habitat and mining efforts, see Map C-2.
6. General Effects of the Operation on the Existing Wildlife of the Area
Gravel extraction and crushing activities will no doubt create some disturbance to animals near
the site. However, resident wildlife will generally become habituated to these activities as
mining has occurred on site since 2007. Migrating animals will likely avoid the site, but the
proposed pit does not block any known migratory routes, and wildlife should be able to move
through the area unimpeded. Due to the possibility for animal/vehicle collisions, hauling
activities will probably pose the biggest threat to wildlife. Haul trucks should keep to posted
speeds and drivers need to remain aware of the potential for collisions.
Yevoli Cobblestone Pit t:rcl;1—acli and Asw uto.PI I
August 2018 H-1
