EXHIBIT K CLIMATE INFORMATION <br /> 1. General Information <br /> Elevation of the site is approximately 9,300 feet above sea level. Summers are mild with usually <br /> a daily afternoon rain. Mild weather extends from about mid-May until the end of September. <br /> Winters in the area are usually severe and very cold. Depending on the severity of the previous <br /> winter, the working season for digging through gravels may be extended and the water supply <br /> determines how long into the fall the gold processing plant can operate. <br /> Climatology data recorded at the Twin Lakes Reservoir(058501 —NOAA station), Colorado, for <br /> the U.S. Department of Commerce, indicates an annual mean temperature is 33 degrees <br /> Fahrenheit. The climate of the Twin Lakes area is semiarid with an average annual precipitation <br /> of 9.6 inches estimated by the State Climatologist Office. Extensive snow occurs from October <br /> through May—an annual average of 45.0 inches. The frost free period for Leadville, Colorado is <br /> approximately 82 days and occurs from mid-June through the end of August.
