R. S. 34-33-101 et. seq. a
Coal Exploration Drill Hole Abandonment Report is being submitted for 3 drill holes (refer to attachment).
One drill hole was drilled at each site. A larger bit size was used to set surface. Due to unconsolidated
sands and gravel, hollow -stem auger drilling was used for drilling and casing the holes simultaneously. A
smaller bit size was used to core continuously to the final depth of the drill hole. Water levels for each
hole were taken prior to abandonment.
Portland Type II cement, bentonite gel and water was used for grouting each hole. The grout ratio was:
for every 94 Ib. bag of Portland Type II cement there was 6 gallons of water and 5 lbs. of bentonite gel.
The densities for the grout material were 94 pounds per cubic foot for the Portland Type II cement, 62.4
pounds per cubic foot for water and 70 pounds per cubic foot of bentonite gel.
