Randall, Executive Director | Virginia Brannon, Director 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 Denver, CO 80203 October 3, 2018 Office of Archaeology & Historic Preservation History Colorado Center 1200 Broadway Denver, CO 80203 Re: Bowie No. 1 Mine (Permit No. C-1981-038) Technical Revision No. 64 (TR-64) Reclamation Plan, West Mine Pond Removal Dear Sir or Madam: The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on October 3, 2018 an application to revise coal mining operations at the Bowie No. 1 Mine was considered complete for the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Bowie Resources, LLC. All review and comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. In accordance with Stipulation No. 59, Bowie Resources, LLC has provided reclamation plans for the removal of ponds W-1 and W-2 at the West Mine. The applicant is not proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 3 miles North of Paonia. The permit area is further described as follows: In all or portions of the following: Sections 1, 2, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 22, 23, 24, and 25 Township 13 South, Range 92 West of the 6th P.M. and Sections 17, 18, 19, 29, 30, 31, and 32 of Township 13 South, Range 91 West of the 6th P.M. The above-mentioned tracts of land are shown on the following USGS 7.5 minute Quadrangle map(s): Gray Reservoir, Bowie.
