SECTION 5.0 Topsoil Stockpile Locations
Trapper's approved permit (Section 4.9.2) specifies that CDRMS will be provided with map(s) illustrating
the location of topsoil stockpiles constructed during the previous year and the approximate locations for
stockpiles proposed for construction during the upcoming year (Map 1).
Table 5-1 lists all existing stockpiles with their identification nomenclature, coordinates (based on the
approximate center of the pile), acres, construction date and volume; which is updated annually.
During 2017, Trapper depleted topsoil piles G1-02 and 9MZ3 for reclamation of parcels Z -A-17. In
preparation of pit advancement a portion of topsoil from G1-02 was placed in three piles, 1-2-17, 1-3-17
and 1-5-17 for later use.
At the end of 2017, excluding stockpiles abandoned with the approvals of MR -155 and TR -94, there are
59 existing topsoil stockpiles at Trapper affecting 155.8 acres and storing approximately 3,269,950 cubic
yards of salvaged topsoil.
Presently there are no proposed approximate locations for new topsoil stockpiles in 2018. Trapper is
planning to utilize existing topsoil stockpiles and live haul stripping for the 2018 reclamation season.
GCR/BDN 3/18
[Annual Report\DRMS17RPT\17TStext5-0]
