Tom Bird of GCC Energy was present for the entire inspection. The weather <br />conditions were sunny and warm. The ground was dry and the temperature was approximately 80F. <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> King I- <br />Reach 6 ditch was free and clear of obstructions. <br />Reach 9 culvert was free of obstructions (photo 1). <br />A section of Reach 1 by the refuse pile road switchback needs to have the shrubs removed (photo 2). The shrubs <br />are impeding the flow of the water in the ditch. <br />Reach 10 ditch was free of obstructions (photo 3). <br />The east and west sediment ponds did not contain water and appeared to be stable. <br /> <br />PROCESSING WASTE/COAL MINE WASTE PILES – Rule 4.10 and 4.11 <br />Drainage Control; Surface Stabilization; Placement: <br /> King I- <br />Coal processing waste was being hauled from King II and staged behind the bath house (photo 4). <br />A loader was spreading waste on the refuse pile and an articulating dump truck loaded with coal wasted was <br />compacting the top of the pile (photo 5). <br />A meeting was held by GCC to discuss the possible expansion of the refuse pile. In attendance for the meeting <br />was Tom Bird (GCC), Jordan McCourt (GCC), Ryan Griglak (Stoner Eng.), Dan Hernandez (CDRMS) and Zach <br />Trujillo (CDRMS) and Brock Bowles (CDRMS).
