Dear Mr. Cazier:
Newmont Mining Corporation - Cripple Creek and Victor Gold Mining Company (CC&V) hereby
provides the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (Division) Technical Revision (TR) No.108
requesting a modification to better manage solution chemistry in order to achieve higher recovery at the
Arequa Gulch(AG)Processing Facilities.
Background:
CC&V is proposing the following modification options in order to improve gold recovery at the AG
Valley Leach Facility (VLF) and Absorption Desorption Recovery (ADR). Figure 1 details the current
process solution flow.
Modifications to the Modifications to the Approved Mine Plan:
Plan:
CC&V proposes to implement the following four modifications to the AGVLF, AGADR and Pregnant
Solution Enhancement System (PSES) Facilities. Pending approval, all modifications will be on lined
facilities and all piping additions will be steel or high-density polyethylene(HDPE)material.
Pregnant Leach solution from Phase II will be pumped via pipe on liner and collected in a used,
repurposed CAT 777 haul truck bed, which will function as a sump. Figure 2 details the lined location of
the truck bed,which will be on the southwest side of the Phase I Pregnant Pumps.
A lime slurry will be added to the truck bed to promote scaling when combined with the Phase II solution;
precipitating the lime and ore to the bottom of the truck bed sump. The lime slurry will be pumped via
