New Horizon North Mine <br />I. General <br />Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation LLC, New Horizon North Mine, Permit No. C-2010-089, is <br />submitting this application for Phase I, II, and III performance bond release. New Horizon North <br />Mine is requesting that three monitoring wells be bond released with this application. <br />The current reclamation liability for the New Horizon North Mine is $4,843,021.01, and New <br />Horizon North Mine currently holds a self -bond in the amount of $5,254,691.17. With this <br />application, the New Horizon Mine will be requesting relinquishment of 100% of the bond <br />held for these three monitoring wells. <br />II. Summary Information <br />A. General Location Description <br />The three monitoring wells that are requested for Phase I, II, and III release are located within <br />Montrose County, Colorado, in the following general locations: <br />NW'/ NW'/o of Section 25, Township 47 North, Range 16 West of the 6" P.M. <br />Please see Map 1 for exact well locations being applied for in under application. <br />B. Public Notice <br />Pursuant to the Rules and Regulation of the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board published <br />August 1980, and pursuant to the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act 34-33-101, et <br />seq., notice is hereby given of the filing of an application for Phase I, II and III Bond Release of <br />a portion of the New Horizon North Mine site. The application is denoted as SL -01 and pertains <br />to the New Horizon North Mine, Permit No. C-2010-089 (issued June 20, 2012) by Elk Ridge <br />Mining and Reclamation, LLC, P. O. Box 628, Nucla, Colorado 81424, filed with the Colorado <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (CDRMS), Colorado Department of Natural <br />Resources, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203. <br />The Phase I, II and III bond release application is for three plugged and abandoned monitoring <br />wells. The wells were plugged and abandoned in August of 2018. The status of these wells <br />being applied for bond release is consistent with the requirements of the approved reclamation <br />plan, which includes plugging and abandoning monitoring wells. Listed below is a general legal <br />description of this area: <br />NW'/ NW'/ of Section 25, Township 47 North, Range 16 West of the 6" P.M. <br />The New Horizon Mine currently holds a self -bond in the amount of $5,254,691.17, which <br />includes the above listed monitoring wells.
