EXHIBIT A—Legal Description
The pit originally encompassed a total of approximately 52.9 acres in the dry creek bed of Sandy
Creek running through the N 1/2 Section 31, T7N, R474W of the 6th P.M., Phillips County,
Colorado. This is an amendment to a previously approved 52.9 acre pit and will add 55.1acres,
making a new total of 108.0 acres. Delineator boundary posts will be set to mark the pit areas
as each area is opened up. A 25' foot buffer will be maintained around the entire pit and that
area 200' on each side of an existing 21-22"buried natural gas pipeline will not be disturbed.
Accounting for the 200' buffer on the west and east ends, the 25' buffer around the perimeter not
already buffered, that area that will not be mined within 200 feet either side of the pipeline, and
130' buffer on the north and east, 31.6 acres will not be mined. The effective disturbed area will
be 76.4 acres.
EXHIBIT B —Index Map
Exhibit B shows a regional location map of the area and a notation of where the entire expanded
area is located and where tract 2 will be expanded..
