EXHIBIT G WATER INFORMATION
1. General
The hydrology and water quality of this site will not be adversely affected by this operation. No
groundwater will be encountered during mining, and the surface changes shall be controlled and
monitored to minimize the effects on the historical stormwater runoff patterns. A Colorado
Department of Public Health and Environment Storm Water Permit will be maintained for this
site as needed.
The operator/applicant will comply with applicable Federal and Colorado water quality laws and
regulations, including all the standards adopted by the State Water Quality Control Commission.
No dredge of streambeds will be done, and the fill areas will not injure the water quality nor
restrict historical flow. Areas in the old creek that have been dug out in the past will be graded to
stable 3H:1 V slopes.
Some earthen structures will remain that were used to control stormwater after mining.
Reclamation requires no structures eg. dams or ponds.
No dams will be constructed on this mine site.
All surface areas of the affected land, including spoil piles, will be stabilized and protected so as
to effectively control erosion.
The site is a dry alluvial terrace of the Purgatoire River. Prior to mining it was rangeland. Most
of the mining has taken place outside of the 100-YR floodplain. Mining of sand from along the
creek bed encroached on the floodplain. No more mining will take place in this area will be, only
reclamation.
Surface water flows drain naturally from the north to the south, towards the Purgatoire River.
During mining, runoff that occurs within the disturbed area will all be routed to the active mining
pit. This is accomplished through the pit highwalls and a two foot tall storm water berm on the
downstream side of all disturbed areas pit. No sediment will be allowed to leave the site and
cloud any downstream waters. The site will not affect existing water rights, since the pit will not
Robinson Gravel No 1
September 2018 G-1
