<br /> <br /> <br />Notice of Proposed Decision <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has issued a proposed decision to <br />approve Bond Release Application No. 9 (SL-9) for the Keenesburg Strip Mine, Permit No. C- <br />1981-028. The surface operation is operated by Coors Energy Company under the provisions of <br />the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond release application was <br />submitted by Coors Energy Company on April 21, 2017. Request release of bond and liability for <br />succesful backfilling and grading in Areas 33 and 34 encompassing approximately 19.38 acres. <br />The amount of reclamation bond requested for release is $64,915.39. The proposed release <br />amount is $16,418.87. Grading, topsoiling and seeding of Area 33 occurred in fall of 2015. Area <br />34 was graded, topsoiled and seeded in fall of 2016. <br /> <br />Weather permitting, DRMS conducts a bond release inspection of the site within thirty (30) days. <br />Otherwise, DRMS will contact you to advise you of the Division’s required bond release <br />inspection of the site as soon as it has been scheduled. A proposed decision on the application will <br />be issued within sixty (60) days of DRMS’s inspection. <br /> The affected area is located in Weld County, approximately 7 miles North of Keenesburg, <br />Colorado. <br /> <br />Copies of the proposed decision are available for review at the Colorado Division of Reclamation, <br />Mining and Safety office, 1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, Colorado 80203, and on the <br />Division’s website at <br />http://mining.state.co.us/Reports/MiningData/Pages/ImagedDocumentData.aspx. A user’s guide <br />for our document imaging system is also available in pdf format at the same web address. <br /> <br />Any person who has an interest which is or may be adversely affected may request an adjudicatory <br />hearing regarding this proposed decision. Requests for a hearing must be made in writing within <br />thirty (30) days of the first publication of this notice, and shall state with reasonable specificity the <br />reasons for the request and objections to the proposed decision. <br />
