Trujillo <br /> Environmental Protection Specialist AUG 3 0 2018 <br /> Division of Reclamation,Mining and Safety <br /> 1313 Sherman Street,Room 215 <br /> Division of Reclamation, <br /> Denver,CO 80203 Mining 8,Safety <br /> Re: Colowyo Coal Mine (Permit No. C-1981-019),Technical Revision No. 123 (TR-123), South Taylor aspen reference Area <br /> Revision (SHPO Project#67752) <br /> Dear Mr.Trujillo: <br /> Thank you for your correspondence dated August 3,2018 for the above referenced project submitted to our office is pursuant to <br /> pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br /> As the above referenced permit revisions doe not propose additional surface disturbance outside of the currently approved <br /> disturbance,it is our opinion that a finding of no historic properties affected is appropriate for the proposed undertaking pursuant <br /> to 36 CIx 800.4(d)(1). <br /> The consultation process does involve other consulting parties such as local governments and Tribes,which as stipulated in 36 <br /> (JR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. Additional information provided by the local government,Tribes or <br /> other consulting parties may cause our office to re-evaluate our comments and recommendations. <br /> If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project,work must be interrupted until the <br /> resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4)in consultation <br /> with our office. Should human remains be discovered during mining activities, the requirements under State law C.R.S. 24-80 <br /> (part 13) apply and must be followed. <br /> Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
