Send proof of publication and invoice to 12250 Highway 12, Weston, CO 81091. <br />PUBLIC NOTICE <br />New Elk Coal Company, 12550 Highway 12, Weston, CO 81091, the operator of the <br />New Elk Mine, has submitted to the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and <br />Safety an application for renewal of the New Elk Mine Permit, Number C-81-012. <br />Renewal of the mining permit will allow for continued mining and reclamation <br />activities over the next 5- year permit term. <br />The New Elk Mine is located approximately 7 miles west of Weston, Colorado in <br />Township 33 South, Range 68 West, in sections 13, 14, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and <br />27. These sections can be located on the USGS 7.5 minute Vigil and Weston <br />quadrangle map contains the area of the referenced activity. The permit area <br />encompasses approximately 4,201.90 acres with 223.80 acres of surface <br />disturbance. <br />A copy of the renewal application is on file for public inspection at the Las Animas <br />County Courthouse, Office of County Recorder and with the Division of Minerals <br />and Geology.
