vrCuc e,<< GCS 8a 6g
l
Lazuk, Raymond
' James
Eric,
As I mentioned to you during your visit last week, we continue to see pH below the NPL range of 6.5 to 8.5 at GW#2.
During our third quarter compliance monitoring on 07/23/2018 we measured pH at GW#2 at 6.1. We conducted a
confirmation measurement on 08/20/2018 with a result of 6.2. The measurements from our monthly pH monitoring that
began in April are as follows:
04/16/2018 6.18
04/19/2018 6.07
05/9/2018 6.24
06/14/2018 6.3
07/23/2018 6.09
08/20/2018 6.22
Historically, the pH has been variable and we expect to see values again within the NPL range. Our plan for now is to
continue to monitor pH monthly to determine if levels increase over time. We will advise you if we see a decreasing
trend from what we have observed over the past five months so that we can develop an action plan to investigate
potential causes for this change.
Please let us know if you need us to do anything further at this time.
Thank you,
- Ray
Raymond Lazuk
Environmental Manager
Climax Mine
Hwy 91 — Fremont Pass
Climax, CO 80429
Office: 719-486-7584
Cell: 719-201-1282
rlazuk@fmi.com
