2.4.1 Topsoil Availability <br /> The availability of topsoil materials associated with disturbances within the permit area <br /> has been assess as part of the baseline soil survey program and reported in Section 4.7.5. <br /> Within the area to be affected by the operation, soil availability for use in reclamation is shown <br /> on Figures 4.7-1 and 4.7-2. <br /> 2.4.2 Topsoil Removal and Handling <br /> Topsoil will be removed from any affected area when suitable topsoil exists in <br /> recoverable thicknesses. Removal will be by rubber tired scraper or some other equipment <br /> adequate to segregate suitable topsoil from unsuitable soil. Topsoil will be stockpiled in the <br /> vicinity of the disturbed area. <br /> 2.4.3 Topsoil Stockpile Design and Management <br /> Topsoil will be deposited in these areas with the equipment used for its removal. <br /> Removal will be done mostly with scrapers although it will be necessary in some areas to use a <br /> loader and truck haulage. <br /> 2.5 SURFACE WATER MONITORING PROGRAM <br /> All surface water monitoring has been suspended effective the second quarter 2018. <br /> A water quality monitoring program has been established to monitor the effect of <br /> mining activities. Portions of this monitoring program, as well as the ground water monitoring <br /> program described in Section 2.6, will cover both the Munger Canyon and McClane Canyon <br /> mines which operate in close proximity to one another in the same major watershed. <br /> Locations of all surface water monitoring sites are shown on Figure 2.3-5. <br /> TR-29 2-28 07/18 <br />
