Banks and Gesso LLC
Introduction
Everist Materials, LLC is submitting this application to the Colorado Division of Reclamation
Mining and Safety to amend Construction Material Regular (112) Reclamation Permit No. M-
1996-049 to add additional affected acreage to an existing sand and gravel mine called the
Maryland Creek Ranch. The property is located within unincorporated Summit County and
partially within the Town of Silverthorne, Colorado.
The rationale for this amendment is to add affected acreage for the total life of the mine and to
increase the maximum disturbed acreage at any one time from 58 acres to 60 acres.
Additionally, this amendment will revise the existing Mining and Reclamation Plans for this
permit. These revisions are necessary to reflect a slight change in the configuration of reclaimed
areas and lakes.
South Maryland Creek Ranch, LLC, and Everist Land Holdings, LLC, are the owners of the
property that is to be included in the amendment area, as well as the owner of the existing mine.
Everist Materials, LLC, has an agreement with the land owner to mine the property.
The proposed post-mining land use is rangeland and lakes. The operator will stabilize soils and
establish vegetation, preparing reclaimed land in accordance with the Regulations. Concurrent
reclamation techniques will be used to make previously mined areas suitable for bond release
as mining activities progress.
Everist Materials,LLC-Maryland Creek Ranch Amendment#2 09034
M-1996-049 February 2010
