PERMIT#: P-2017-017
INSPECTOR'S INITIALS: ECS
INSPECTION DATE: August 16,2018
OBSERVATIONS
This was full release inspection for the Brown Exploration permit, a 0.5 acre construction materials exploration
permit operated by Yuma County. The inspection was conducted by Eric Scott of DBMS. DRMS traveled to
the site and met with Yuma County representative Don Marr on-site at approximately 1330.
The site was characterized by using an excavator to pothole in 24 locations for suitable material. Similar to the
Conrad Exploration site, rather than backfilling and re-seeding the disturbed area, the test pit locations were
reclaimed by replacing the original sod which had been carefully removed and set aside prior to excavation of
the test pit. Upon completion of the pit, the excavation was immediately backfilled and compacted and the
original sod replaced. This process was so successful that during this release inspection, GPS coordinates were
needed to locate areas that had been disturbed. The test pit areas were indistinguishable from the surrounding
area as they had been "reclaimed" with the original vegetation.
No other issues were noted during this inspection, and DRMS will approve the release of this permit.
Innspection Contact Address
Don Marr
Yuma County
1310 Blake St.
Wray, CO 80758
