This site is located approximately 11/2 mile northeast of Del Norte,
Colorado in Rio Grande County. I, Stephanie Mitchell of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and
Safety (Division) conducted the inspection. No one accompanied me on the inspection.
This is a 112c mining operation with a 70.6 permit acres with 44.8 acres disturbed. There are several
impoundments and a recharge ditch. Several product stockpiles are on site. Topsoil is stored in the southern
portion of the permit area and appears stable.
There was no fuel stored on site. A scale house and back hoe were on site. Vegetation is sparse in this
portion of the affected land some native grasses have established in this area, but it is primarily vegetated
with annual weeds. The Operator will need to take steps to keep the weeds- Kochia and Spotted Knapweed-
under control.
The Financial Warranty of $238,311.00 held by the Division is adequate at this time.
No problems or violations were noted during this inspection.
Responses to this inspection report should be directed to Stephanie Mitchell at the Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety, Grand Junction Field Office, 101 South 3rd Street, Room 301, Grand Junction, Colorado
81501, phone number (970) 242-5025.
