The proposed infrastructure includes a power line, an associated light -use road to access
the power line and 3 small buildings to support the fiber optics line to the Collom pit area. The
proposed power line will be approximately 16,900 feet in length. Moreover, the proposed power
infrastructure will be located in an area that has been previously disturbed and will occupy an area
within the approved disturbance footprint for the mine.
CPW has worked collaboratively with the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement
(OSMRE) and Colowyo Coal Mine to develop site-specific mitigation that will help reduce, minimize
or avoid impacts to wildlife and wildlife habitat associated with this project. These mitigation
practices have been documented via other correspondence documents with OSMRE, and CPW
believes that the proposed activities fall within the scope of anticipated impacts that were considered
in these documents.
CPW appreciates the opportunity to provide comments for Technical Revision No. 121. For
additional information, please contact Brett Smithers, Land Use Specialist at 970-878-6069.
Sincerely,
Bill deVergie, Area Wildlife Manager
Cc: Evan Jones, District Wildlife Manager, Craig South
Brett Smithers, Land Use Specialist, Northwest Regional Office
File
p4 c co
 i R
c d
Bob D.
