Wein JUL 312018 JUL 19 2018 <br />Environmental Protection Specialist Division of Reclamation, <br />Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety Mining & Safety <br />1313 Sherman Street, Room 215 <br />Denver, CO 80203 <br />Re: McClane canyon Mine (Permit No. C-1981-004) Technical Revision No. 18 (1R-18) Eliminate alluvial well GW -3 from <br />the mines monitoring program (SHPO Project #69334) <br />Dear Mr. Wein: <br />Thank you for your correspondence dated Islay 31, 2018, received by our office on June 4, 2018 for the above referenced project <br />submitted to our office is pursuant to pursuant to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br />As the above referenced permit revisions doe not propose additional surface disturbance outside of the currently approved <br />disturbance , it is our opinion that a finding of no historic properties affected is appropriate for the proposed undertaking pursuant <br />to 36 CFR 800.4(d)(1). <br />The consultation process does involve other consulting parties such as local governments and Tribes, which as stipulated in 36 <br />CFR 800.3 are required to be notified of the undertaking. additional information provided by the local government, Tribes or <br />other consulting parties may cause our office to re-evaluate our comments and recommendations. <br />If previously unidentified archaeological resources are discovered in the course of the project, work must be interrupted until the <br />resources are properly evaluated in terms of the National Register of Historic Places eligibility criteria (36 CFR 60.4) in consultation <br />with our office. Should human remains be discovered during mining activities, the requirements under State law C.R.S. 24-80 <br />(part 13) apply and must be followed. <br />Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
