12 June 2018 C-1982057 Seneca II W Mine RAR <br /> <br /> <br />5 <br />Number of Partial Inspections this Fiscal Year: 8 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 4 <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE- Rule 4.05 <br />General Requirements 4.05.1; Effluent Standards 4.05.2; Divergence and Conveyance of Overland <br />Flow 4.05.3;Diversions 4.05.4; Sediment Control Measures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Discharge Structures <br />4.05.7; Impoundments 4.05.9; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Underground Mine Entry 4.05.10; <br />Surface and Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13;Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> <br />Ponds 6, 9, 15, 16 and 17 were visited. Unless noted below, spillways appeared in good repair, <br />with flumes functioning correctly. Pond banks appeared stable, exhibiting established vegetation. <br />Contour ditches observed appeared to be functioning adequately, no breaches were detected. <br />Constructed drainages observed appeared stable, well armored and in good repair. <br />o Pond 6 exhibits a soil slump above. The slump does not impact the pond at this time. The <br />pond was discharging to a plunge pool and discharge appeared clear. <br />o Pond 9 was not discharging at the time of inspection. <br />o Pond 15 was discharging what appeared to be clear water. <br />o Pond 16, no issues noted at time of inspection. Drainage way into the pond was dis- <br />charging clear water and the drainage way appeared stable. Nearby rivulets exhibited a <br />high iron content as per the orange tinge. <br />o Pond 17 was full and at the time of inspection, no issues were noted <br />o Drainages were walked as per map 1 above and all appeared well armored and stable. <br />o Some gullies and rills were noted but appeared they would self heal. <br /> <br />SLIDES and OTHER DAMAGE- Rule 4.12 <br />o Several slides and slumped areas exist around the site. No recent movement was detected <br />at the time of inspection. <br /> <br />TOPSOIL -Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; <br />Redistribution 4.06.4: <br />o Reclamation appeared stable and vegetation appeared vigorous and well <br />established. <br />o Marked topsoil piles were noted around the site at time of inspection. Slopes <br />appeared adequate ly vegetated and stable at the time of inspection. <br /> <br />REVEGETATION - Rule 4.15 <br />General Requirements 4.15.1; <br />o Revegetated areas and reclamation exhibited vigorous growth with well established plants <br />exhibiting a diversity of species. <br />o No extensive areas devoid of vegetation were noted. <br />o No expansive areas of weed infestations were noted. <br />o Houndstooth was noted thoroughout the site. <br />o Near the T27 pond some thistles were present at the time of inspaction. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
