The surface operation is operated by Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation, LLC under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond release application was submit- ted by Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation, LLC on July 28, 2016. ERMR is applying for partial Phase II bond release on 23.7 acres and partial Phase III bond release on 272.0 acres of reclaimed lands. The affect- ed area is located in Montrose County, approximately 1.7 miles Northwest of Nucla, Colorado.
