On May 21, 2018, CC&V received Preliminary Adequacy Review comments from the
Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety(DRMS). Please see the responses below to address
the outstanding adequacy concerns; DRMS' comments in italics with Newmont's response to
comments in bold.
1) Monitoring results submittal schedule: The third paragraph on page 2 of the TR request commits to
daily leak detection monitoring. Furthermore, the signed consent agenda dated April 12, 2018
commits to weekly sampling of the VLF2 (a.k.a. Squaw Gulch Valley Leach Facility) underdrain
system and providing results of both the sampling efforts to the Division on a monthly basis. The
Division has received no sampling results to date. When will CC&V begin providing these monthly
reports?
CC&V has provided Underdrain sampling results and Leak Detection Sump inspection records
for the period of April 25, 2018 to May 21, 2018. CC&V commits to providing the remaining
results and records on the first Monday of each month until the liner has been recertified.
