T
Nla)- 29. 201 8
Mr. Eric Scott
Division of Reclamation. Mining, and Safety
Colorado Department of Natural Resources
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver. Colorado 80203
Re: Status of TR05 Corrective Actions - Mine Permit ?4-2008-082
Dear Eric:
Please find enclosed the monitor well data through 5f2-12018 for the A&W Monitor Well and
MW -107 located north of the Stage 613 Pit. To date, the water levels in the A&W Monitor well
have recovered to the elevation measured last summer. We will continue to check the levels in
these wells to determine the effectiveness of the Containment Berm constructed in Stage 68, but
believe that we have minimized the impact of Stage 6 on the hydrologic balance.
At this time, we believe the water levels have recovered enough to allow the A&W Well to
operate without any impacts. A&W has confirmed this to us in informal communications.
Nevertheless, to determine the water level and productian status of the A&W Well. we hate
been in contact with A&W Water's Attorney, Wes Knc11. and their Water Engineer, Jason
Henderson, to schedule a time to conduct a second pun• p test on the well. We expect the test to
be completed on or around the 20" of June. We "ill fon%ard the results of the test to you once
that is completed.
In addition, we commissioned Deere and Ault Consultants, Inc. of Longmont, Colorado to
complete the stability analysis of the existing Containrrent Berm in Stage 6B (see attached scope
of work), If needed, they will make recommendations 'or the design of the berm should it be
necessary to raise the berm to further improve .cater levels in the area. At this time, it appears
that the heightened berm may not be necessary either For hydrologic balance purposes or to allow
A&W to use its well at the permitted pumping rate. In any event, the drilling of the berm was
completed on 5?23!2018. We expect the results of the Stability Analysis to be complete by the
end of June. When that is received, we will issue a follow-up report to communicate the results
of their analysis.
If you have an) questions or need additional information please let me kno%%.
Thank y ou,
rr .........
Joe Lamanna
General Manager - AgoreQates
Read) NINed Cnnerete Company, 11778 1 52, Fort Lupton.
