The regraded B Seam portal area falls within
the Elk Geek coal st«kpile area and soil replacement and revegetation of this area has been deferred
until the coal st«kpile area u reclaimed. Similarly, the backfilled C Seam portal area has been utilized
az the East Yard coal mine wazte pile and this area will be resoiled and revegetated once coal mine
wazte placement activities are completed. Both areas will be reclaimed in conjunction with the Elk
Creek Coal Handling, Support, and Ancillary Facilities, az described under that sub-heading.
Reclamation cosu for the Somerset B and C Seam portal areas are included in the overall reclamation
costs for the Ells Geek Facilities Area.
Reclamation Schedule -The following s~~R,.,,~r;~rs the timing of reclamation activities that have or
will «cur for the Somerset Mtne and related facilities:
1986 - B and C Seam portals sealed.
Future -Ass«ia[ed surface facilities have either ah-eadybeen reclaimed (Bear and
Hubbard Creek facilities) or will be reclaimed in the future in conjunction with other
surface facilities areaz (Elk Geek Coal Handling, Support, and Ancillary facilities).
Bear Creek Area (Somerset Mine) -The Bear Geek facilities included portals, ventilation fans, a
water tank, and several degazsification brorhek.
Demolition and Final Grading -All equipment, buildings, and above ground structures have been
dismanded and removed.
