As mining progresses and overburden is encountered, it too
will be used immediately for reclamation. By reclaiming while mining, all soil will be salvaged
as best as possible.
All topsoil piles will be seeded within a year after they are created with the same dry rangeland
mix shown in the reclamation plan. The slopes of these piles will nor exceed 3H:IV. It is
expected that approximately 6 inches of strippable topsoil will be available from the disturbed
areas. All stockpiles will be clearly marked.
All topsoil stripped from the South Pond area has been stripped and placed in stockpiles around
the Pond. No new topsoil stripping will occur, per the TR in 2018. The North Pond area has been
fully reclaimed as of 2010.
Olathe Pit, 2018
