The inspection <br />was conducted by Clayton Wein and Janet Binns of the Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the <br />Division). Tom Medlin of the Office of Surface Mining, Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE ) was present <br />for the inspection. Joe Brinton and Chuck Selingo of CAM Mining were also present for the inspection with Cam <br />Mining’s consultant Jim Stover of J.E. Stover and Associates. The weather was clear starting at 70 degrees <br />fahrenheiht and reaching the upper 80s by the conclusion of the inspection. The ground conditions were dry. The <br />request was for the final release of the remaining 21.1 acres of disturbance associated with the mine. <br />BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> A total of 4.5 acres of disturbance were requested to be Phase I, II and III released. The backfilling and <br />grading work associated with 3.3 acres includes: the access road to the McClane Canyon Mine’s drill pad, a <br />portion of the access road that turned of f the access road and went to the north, and the drill pad. The remaining <br />1.2 aces have been requested to remain as a permanent road. The road was requested to remain at the site to <br />support the post mining land use. The backfilling and grading work on the 3.3 acres was completed in 2 006. The <br />road was blended well with the surrounding area and was stable. There were no indications of erosional features. <br />The road has become very well vegetated. The regrading work for the drill pad was completed in 2006 as well. <br />The site blended well with the surrounding topography. There were no concerns with stability or erosion control. <br />The site was well vegetated. Some of the silt fence on the site still remains in place. Please remove this <br />material from the site. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> Throughout the inspection of the Munger Canyon Mine scat belonging to deer, elk and coyote were seen. <br />A couple of Collard lizards were seen along the reclaimed access road to the McClane drill pad (Photo 1). <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05
