The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety renewed Mining Permit No. C-1981-008
for the New Horizon Mine on May 15, 2018, allowing coal mining and reclamation operations to
continue under the provisions of the Colorado Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The
permit was issued to Elk Ridge Mining and Reclamation, LLC, PO Box 33695, Denver, CO 80233-
0695, [phone], for their mining operation located in Montrose County, approximately 1.7
miles Northwest of Nucla, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows:
