Water Quality Monitonng Plan Climax Molybdenum Company Version R4 Permit No. M-1977-493 2.3 Monitoring Network In accordance with the 2011 Water Quality Monitoring Plan submitted as TR-18, Climax has been monitoring groundwater quality at multiple locations in the Arkansas River Watershed, the Eagle River Watershed, and the Tenmile Creek Watershed. Table 2-1 presents construction information for all groundwater monitoring wells at the Site, including date of construction, depth of well, and screened interval. These monitoring wells have generally been sampled quarterly, weather and site conditions permitting, since the submittal of the 2011 WQMP or date of construction, and analytical data are presented in the Annual Reports Climax submits to DRMS. In accordance with TR-18, groundwater samples have been analyzed for the constituents specified in Table 4-1. As described in TR-18, Climax also has been monitoring surface water at several internal monitoring locations and in the East Fork Arkansas River and East Fork Eagle River for the parameters in Table 4-3 and Table 4-4. Climax collects and treats excess process water and mine drainage within each of the three drainage basins and discharges treated water to Tenmile Creek under Colorado Discharge Permit System (CDPS) discharge permit No. C00000248. Surface water monitoring at the outfalls is performed in accordance with this permit, and is not included in this WQMP. Compliance with the CDPS discharge requirements demonstrates the overall effectiveness of the collection and treatment facilities.
