Water Quality Monitoring Plan Climax Molybdenum Company
Version R4 Permit No. M-1977-493
Based on the evaluation of baseline monitoring data, the indicator parameter list for routine surface water
monitoring, as well as the expanded baseline parameter list for periodic monitoring and reporting is in Table
4-5.
Table 4-5-Surface Water Monitoring Parameters
Indicator Parameters
Cadmium,dissolved Molybdenum,total recoverable
Copper,dissolved Zinc,dissolved
Iron,dissolved pH
Iron,total recoverable Sulfate(SO4)
Manganese,dissolved Total Dissolved Solids(TDS)
Molybdenum,dissolved Hardness
Expanded Baseline Monitoring Parameters
Aluminum,dissolved Selenium,dissolved
Antimony,dissolved Silver,dissolved
Arsenic,dissolved Sodium,dissolved
Arsenic,total recoverable Thallium,dissolved
Barium,dissolved Vanadium,dissolved
Beryllium,dissolved Ammonia(NH3)as N
Calcium,dissolved Bicarbonate(HCO3)
Chromium(Crlll+CrVI),dissolved Total Alkalinity
Cobalt,dissolved Chloride,dissolved
Lead,dissolved Cyanide,WAD
Magnesium,dissolved Cyanide,total
Mercury,total Fluoride,dissolved
Nickel,dissolved Total Nitrate+Nitrite as N
Potassium,dissolved Total Organic Carbon(TOC)
4.2 Monitoring Schedule
Following the approval of this TR-27, all groundwater and internal surface water monitoring locations under
this WQMP will continue to be monitored quarterly for the indicator parameters listed in Tables 4-2, and 4-
5, respectively. Ongoing surface water monitoring of the East Fork Arkansas River and the East Fork Eagle
River will be performed semi-annually, to collect data during high-flow and low-flow conditions. Concurrent
monitoring will be conducted when possible at sampling stations on the East Fork Eagle River and the
Eagle Park Reservoir outlet during periods of discharge from the reservoir. The Eagle Park Reservoir outlet
generally releases water during winter months, November through March, but may also release water in
late summer or fall. Climax will conduct concurrent sampling on the East Fork Eagle River and at the EPR
Outlet at least once each year during the river low flow winter period. When possible, Climax will again
concurrently sample these sites in the late summer or early fall if water is released from the reservoir. All
routine monitoring will be performed on these schedules, weather and access conditions permitting.
Once every three years, samples from all monitoring locations will also be analyzed for the expanded
baseline monitoring parameters set forth in Tables 4-2 (groundwater) and 4-5 (surface water).
EPP—Appendix C May 2018 21
