STATE OF
COLORADO Scott - DNR, Eric <eric.scott@state.co.us>
Response to DRMS Complaint M1997058
Scott - DNR, Eric <eric.scott@state.co.us> Tue, May 8, 2018 at 1:32 PM
Draft To: Harold Head <Black.Bear@comcast.net>
Mr. Eiberger,
DRMS received the complaint form you submitted on 514118 electronically via the DRMS web site. The text provided is
rather unclear, however, rather than a complaint, the form appears to be a request for information regarding areas within
the existing permit that are "in the current maintenance plan for this year".
While DRMS requires that reclamation be completed within five years after mining is completed, and that appropriate site
maintenance be conducted until the site is released, we do not require or track specific reclamation tasks on a yearly or
seasonal basis. A reclamation timeline is provided in the permit application, however, DRMS does not require operators
to adhere to the reclamation schedule provided as a condition of the permit.
it is my understanding at this time that mining at this site has ended, and that Hall Irwin is currently engaged in site -wide
reclamation. They may be able to provide you with more detailed information regarding reclamation activities they will be
conducting this year.
Eric Scott
Environmental Protection Specialist, P.G., R.G.
COLORADO
Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Safety
Department of Natural Resources
P 303.866.3567 x 8140 1 F 303.832.8106
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215, Denver, CO 802.03
eric.scott@state.co.us I www.mining.state.co.us
