TC plans to replace the "Surveyor's Trailer" with
a Cold Storage Shed for storage of bagged and bulk materials. The Cold Storage Shed will allow some higher
usage volume materials that are currently stored in storage sheds to the west of the Main Diesel Fueling Station
to be stored in the new location, reducing loading and unloading activities in this high -traffic area. The Cold
Storage Shed will sit on concrete piers, will be approximately 150' long x 50' wide x 20115' high, and will be a
modular steel structure, open to the west. Since the Cold Storage Shed will be constructed in the same location
as the previous "Surveyor's Trailer", there will be no new surface disturbance, and drainage from this area will
be addressed by the existing drainage and sediment control systems. Consistent with TC's standard operating
practices, no potentially hazardous materials will be stored in this outside storage area.
This submittal includes revised PAP text (pg 2.05-19), addressing the location, configuration, operation,
maintenance, and reclamation of the proposed Cold Storage Shed and a bond estimate. Please note that while
the Cold Storage Shed (100' x 50' x 11`20') is slightly larger than the previous "Surveyor's Trailer" (80' x 40' x
10'), it is a less complex structure (3 -sided and no interior walls), and in reality would probably be disassembled
for re -use rather than demolished. The accompanying bond estimate reflects these considerations, with a lower
cubic -foot cost for the shed structure. The bond estimate includes a deduction for the "Surveyor's Trailer"
based on the 06116 Bond Reclamation Cost Estimate (Task 190 Demolition, Warehouse Complex
Environmental Trailer).
We would like to proceed with this project as soon as possible, to support our ongoing mining activities. We,
therefore, appreciate your consideration, cooperation, and assistance in facilitating timely review and approval
of this revision application. After you have opportunity to review the accompanying information, please feel
free to contact me with any questions or to discuss submittal materials or related matters.
Best regards,
Jerry .
