Topsoil will be stripped and stockpiled to be used as plant growth medium at
reclamation time. Overburden will be removed and stockpiled to be used in
reclamation of any slopes.
B. After the Topsoil and Overburden are stockpiled in separate piles for use at the time of
reclamation, rubber tired loaders will excavate the open pit. Materials will be dumped
into a crusher. The material will be processed, screened and conveyed to stockpiles.
C. No water diversions or impoundments are anticipated at this site.
D. Mining will be performed in areas of land up to 17 acres per phase.
E. Open pit mining will be performed in phases with each phase consisting of topsoil
excavation and stockpiling; overburden excavation and stockpiling; excavation of
deposit; reclamation of disturbed area replacing overburden from stockpiled portion;
reclamation of stockpiled topsoil; compaction and reseeding. The next phase will
begin upon the commencement of reclamation of the first phase. Phase I is
approximately 17 acres and will be mined first. Once it is mined, reclamation will start
and we will move the mining operation to Phase 11,which is approximately 16 acres.
After both Phase I and Phase 11 have been mined and reclamation has started, we will
move the mining operation to the final Phase III. Phase III is approximately 16 acres in
size. At that point we will relocate the landowner's livestock facilities to another
location and proceed with mining operations in Phase III. Before Phase III begins, we
will have the landowner's permission.
F. Topsoil = 6"
Overburden =Up to 5'
Deposits = Up to 20'
G.
