OSMRE is making the determination of eligibility <br />as "not eligible" and concurrently consulting with the Colorado State Historic Preservation Officer. The <br />isolated find is recommended not eligible under any criteria. Please see the additional attached <br />documentation for more information. <br />10. Describe the undertaking's effects on historic properties: <br />2018 -IF -1 has been discovered after having been discovered on the surface by operation of the <br />undertaking post -approval. The location of the isolated find will be adversely affected and currently a <br />work stoppage is in place. The project will completely destroy the isolated find location. The isolated find <br />is recommended as not a historic property by the operator's contracted archaeologist, and OSMRE is <br />concurrently consulting with the SHPO regarding eligibility. <br />11. Explain how this undertaking would adversely affect historic properties (include information on <br />any conditions or future actions known to date to avoid, minimize, or mitigate adverse effects): <br />As the isolated find is recommended by the archaeological contractor as not eligible for the NRNP, <br />OSMRE is in -turn requesting such concurrence from the SHPO. Should the SHPO disagree with the <br />determination, resolution of adverse effects would be necessary. As the situation currently stands, <br />OSMRE anticipates concurrence from the SHPO and that the undertaking will no adverse effects will <br />occur at this location because the isolated find is not expected to define as a historic property. <br />12. Provide copies or summaries of the views provided to date by any consulting parties, Indian <br />tribes or Native Hawaiian organizations, or the public, including any correspondence from the SHPO <br />and/or THPO. <br />For the Colowyo Mine Collom Expansion Project, OSMRE received a response from the Southern Ute <br />Indian tribe that the project will have no effect to properties of religious and cultural significance. Moffat <br />County participated in discussions regarding NEPA during project planning, but had no comments <br />regarding cultural resources under section 106.
