Gunnison Ave, Suite 240 <br />Grand Junction, CO 81501-5711 <br /> <br /> <br />Re: Foidel Creek Mine (Permit No. C-1982-056) <br /> Technical Revision No. 90 (TR-90) <br /> Thickener Underflow Boreholes & Pipelines. <br /> <br /> <br />Dear Sir or Madam: <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety hereby issues notice, in accordance with Title 34, <br />Article 33, Section 116, Paragraph 4, of the Colorado Revised Statutes, that on April 23, 2018 an <br />application to revise coal mining operations at the Foidel Creek Mine was considered complete for <br />the purposes of filing. The revision was submitted by Twentymile Coal, LLC. All review and <br />comment periods as provided in the Act and the Regulations initiate from this date of filing. <br /> <br />This revision proposes to construct, operate, and reclaim four thickener underflow (TUF) <br />boreholes, drill pads, and additional pipeline in the Western Mining District. All proposed <br />boreholes will be within 300ft of County Road 27. A driveway permit has been applied for <br />through Routt County. All boreholes will be drilled into the inby opening of their associated panel <br />to approximately 1400’. Boreholes will include removal and stockpiling of soil material, <br />construction of drainage structures, minor cut and fill grading to establish access roads and level <br />pads, excavation of temporary cutting pits on the drill pads, and drilling and casing of the <br />boreholes. The applicant is proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently <br />approved for disturbance. <br /> <br />The underground coal mining operation is on land located approximately 23 miles Southwest of <br />Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The permit area is further described as follows: <br />
