(Tri-State), is the parent company to <br />Axial Basin Coal Company, which is the general partner to Colowyo Coal Company L.P. (Colowyo). <br />Colowyo operates under the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (Division) Permit No. C1981- <br />019. <br />In accordance with Exhibit 5 Item 3 of the permit to mine, Tri-State on behalf of Colowyo is <br />providing written notification to the Division of the discovery of an isolated find. As required, a <br />Colorado permitted archaeologist has evaluated the discoveries and has made a recommendation to the <br />eligibility of the isolated find to the National Register of Historic Places (NRNP). This documentation <br />and recommendation has been included for your review. <br />The isolated find was located prior to topsoil removal activities within the Little Collom Gulch <br />drainage, and per the enclosed documentation is not recommended as an eligible site for the NRHP. <br />Tri-State and Colowyo are fully committed to protecting all cultural resources sites, and will take <br />the measures required to ensure the sites are mitigated or avoided.
