5 I
,a5t3RS
RECEMIED
PI'lEER
EXHIBIT AMUL
9. Detailed description of use and method of diversion:
a. Evaporation from a maximum lake area of 17 acres
will be 78.07 acre feet per year (17 acres times 4.59 acre
feet per acre, gross lake evaporation) . The pit will be
dewatered during mining operations, with the water being
drained to a neighboring dry pit. This will not increase the
evaporation losses from the pit; the evaporation will merely
occur at another location. The dewatering will be
accomplished by pumping at a maximum rate of 1500 gallons per
minute.
b. For the sixty days per year the pit may be
operating, it is estimated that dust suppression requirements
will be 10,000 gallons per day, or 1.84 acre feet per year.
The water will be pumped from the pit at a maximum rate of
1500 gallons per minute.
c. An estimated maximum of 100, 000 tons of product will
be mined per year. Assuming a product moisture content of 4
percent, there will be a resulting water use of 2.94 acre feet
per year associated with the product removed from the pit.
d. The total water usage from all of the above listed
activities will be 82.85 acre feet per year.
