mining area to dewater the pit prior to mining. It is expected that inflows to the pump will be
approximately 50-100 gallons per minute. This amount will be pumped from the pit to the
adjacent mined out pit, where it will seep into the ground.
The following operation parameters are forecast:
• 6-9 months per year operation
• active operations will be maximum 6 days per week, 12 hours per day
• move an average 2000 CY of overburden per day
• Two 5-inch rock grizzlies will be located near the active pit to avoid transporting large
rock to the processing plant
• strip an average of 4.5"of topsoil on virgin areas and either directly respread on
previously mined and regraded areas or place in a stockpile for use in reclamation
Due to other operations such as topsoil removal and replacement, overburden removal and
regrading, pump setup and other items, it is assumed that each area will take approximately 45
days or 1.5 months to mine. Roughly 100,000 CY of gravel is processed over the course of a
year. This amount may increase if the overburden amount is less, or if plant efficiency increases.
A breakdown of the anticipated product tonnages and mined tonnages and a breakdown of
estimated areas is discussed below.
The order of mining is reserved by the Operator and will be determined based on previous area's
geology studied during mining as well as logistics. Currently, mining is completed in Areas A
and B and are approximately 75%backfilled. Active gold placer mining is occurring in Area F,
as of October 2017. Areas C and D are backfilled and in reclamation phase.
At any one time, two mining areas may be active. The area or parts of the current area in advance
of the active cut will be stripped of topsoil and will be stockpiled. The active pit will have
overburden removal and gold-bearing gravel mining. The cut behind the active pit will have
overburden placement, regrading and topsoil placement. Backfilling with overburden will create
shallower 3H:1 V reclaimed slopes shown on Map F-1. Topsoil will be applied to overburden
slopes at a depth of 4.5 inches and seeded with rangeland grasses. Reclamation plan details are
described in Exhibit E.
Alma Placer Mine
December 2017 D-4
