The <br />inspection was completed by Clayton Wein of the Division of Reclemation, Mining and Safety (the Division), <br />The site is inactive and no company representative was present for the inspection. The weather was partly cloudy <br />with a temperature of 54 degrees farenheight. The ground conditions were damp, muddy and partly snow covered. <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the North Thompson Creek Mines are located at the Garfield County Courthouse in <br />Glenwood Springs, Colorado. The records were in good condition . Please update the records with t he <br />February 2018 DMRs. For more details, please see the attached Availability of Records form at the end of <br />this report. <br /> <br />FISH and WILDLIFE – Rule 4.18: <br /> During the inspection several wildlife tracks were spotted including deer and rabbit. Most of the tracks <br />were located near the ponds. <br /> <br />HYDROLOGIC BALANCE - Rule 4.05 <br />Drainage Control 4.05.1, 4.05.2, 4.05.3; Siltation Structures 4.05.5, 4.05.6; Dischar ge Structures 4.05.7, 4.05.10; <br />Diversions 4.05.4; Effluent Limits 4.05.2; Ground Water Monitoring 4.05.13; Surface Water Monitoring 4.05.13; <br />Drainage – Acid and Toxic Materials 4.05.8; Impoundments 4.05.6, 4.05.9; Stream Buffer Zones 4.05.18: <br /> A series of ponds remains at the North Thompson Creek Mines to support the post mining land use. There <br />are five ponds in total and a detailed description of each is included below: <br /> <br />- Long Pond: T he long pond is the first in the series of the ponds at the site. T he pond receives discharge from the <br />No. 1 Mine portal and the No. 3 Mine portal. The portal discharges are channeled into pvc pipes that run <br />underground to the inlet of the Long Pond. The pvc pipe for the No. 1 Mine crosses a bridge over North <br />Thompson Creek. The pipe was securely attached to the bridge and no leaks were observed. The No. 1 Mine <br />discharge into the pond was at an approximate rate of 10 gpm. The water from the pipe was clear. Discharge
