Pond J was almost dry at the time of the inspection. There was no discharge <br />from the pond. The discharge outlet was clear from debris and capable of functioning. The embankment of the <br />pond was well vegetated and stable. There were no indications of erosion. Pond K was dry during the inspection. <br />The embankments were well vegetated and stable. There were no observed blockages in the outlet and no <br />erosional features were noted. <br /> <br />Diversion ditches on Gob Pile 2 were generally in good condition. There was not any water flowing at the time of <br />the inspection. Two ditches one on Gob Pile 4 and one on Gob Pile 2 have had down-cutting in the channel occur. <br />Ditch D-D7 on Gob Pile 4 (Photo 3) has been down-cut and a Minor Revision (MR-196) has been approved to use <br />straw waddles to help reduce the flow velocity during precipitation and runoff events . D-D7 was stable and there <br />were no indications that the channel had been breached. Ditch D-F8 on Gob Pile 2 (Photo 4) has had similar <br />erosional down-cutting occur. A technical revision will be submitted to the Division to armor the channe l to <br />prevent future down-cutting from occurring. The ditch was stable and there were no observed signs that the <br />channel was being bypassed. <br /> <br />Ditches along the haul road were in good repair and capable of functioning as designed. There was not any flow <br />during the inspection.
