There are two revisions being requested: a) increased excavation due to over-
excavation of the reservoir area and b)extension of the drainage Swale to better control surface runoff.
Originally, we had intended there be no over-excavation of the reservoir footprint, and had estimated
163,000 CY of total excavation. We now find it prudent to over-excavate in the area where the
reservoir embankment will be constructed, and the total excavation is now revised upward to 193,000
CY. This revision involves no change in the finished contours of the reservoir, its footprint, or its
embankment.
Originally, we had designed the drainage Swale that runs along the west side of the planned reservoir
to terminate approximately 300 feet north of the existing irrigation ditch. Drainage water at that point
would return to the existing grade and could enter the irrigation ditch. It was decided that it would be
more prudent to extend the drainage Swale south and across the irrigation ditch (placing the irrigation
ditch in a pipe under the drainage Swale). The landowner has consented to this revision. The attached
Map 5 incorporates the extended drainage Swale and would supersede Map 5 in the original
application. The attached Map 4 incorporates an expansion of the spoils and stockpile area to north of
the existing irrigation ditch and would supersede Map 4 in the original application.
These revisions will not increase the Affected Area, will not require an increase in equipment or
manpower, and will not change the remediation and revegetation procedures.
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Joht/Faint.
John C.
