Page 2
trends and including descriptions of groundwater level and annual potentiometric surface maps be
included in the annual hydrology reports.
The operator provided a response in MR -97, received February 26, 2016, stating that a written
interpretation of the data will be provided in the annual hydrology reports. I reviewed the 2015 and
2016 annual hydrology reports and adequate additional data or interpretation of the data has not been
provided. The Division requests this additional data, written interpretation, and current potentiometric
surface maps be provided before any reductions are made to the groundwater monitoring plan.
NHprovided the Division an adequacey response received Sep 25, 2017 which included additional
water information, trends and interrpretation of water data.
This response also referenced New Horizon Mine SL -19 Bond Release application, which
included the Hydrology Assessment presented in Appendix D as well as the supporting
information. The Division reviewed the Hydrology Assessment present in Appendix D of the
revision February 20, 2018 and concluded the resulting impacts from mining where listed within
the probable hydrologic consequences, PHC, and will persist. The required hydrologic
demonstration and data were provided for the SL -19 bond release.
The additional data provided with the September 2017 response which included a Hydrology
Analysis, the data provided with SL -19, and the 2017 AHR received Jan 2, 2018 provided the data
discussion and trend analysis that the Division was looking for to make a determination. And no
additional issues were noted.
7. Resolved
